Our History

PLM International (“PLM”) is founded as a lessor and manager of railcar investments. Over the next 2 decades, PLM raises over $1.7 billion of equity for investment in railcars, aircraft, marine containers, shipping vessels, and refrigerated trailers

PLM branches out into the rental business creating PLM Rental Incorporated and opens 3 trailer rental and leasing yards. PLM Rental acquires Resource Trailer Leasing (RTL) and merges both companies opening 10 PLM Rental locations within Eastern and Central USA offering a variety of dry vans, flat beds, and refrigerated trailers.

In the mid to late 90’s, PLM Rental transforms to PLM Trailer Leasing focusing solely on the Cold Supply Chain, refrigerated distribution, and refrigerated trailers and offers a new, flexible term lease program. PLM creates the first custom spec food service trailers designed for the short-term lease and rental business.

PLM International sells PLM Trailer Leasing to Marubeni America Corporation (MAC).   Marubeni America Corporation blends the PLM model into their current marine container division, Carlisle Leasing International (CLI) that specializes in refrigerated marine containers and international cold chain logistics.

PLM announces the offering of ColdLink®, a 2-way GPS tracking system on its refrigerated fleet.    ColdLink is a web-based management tool that enables customers to gain “real-time” visibility into their entire fleet allowing them to not only track their trailers, but monitor the temperature of products while en route.

PLM creates a dynamic "Build Your Own" website called  plmtrailerspec.com, which enables customers to spec and build refrigerated trailers online.
